What is a storytelling session?
A storytelling photography session focuses on capturing a narrative through images, rather than just taking individual shots. It involves creating a series of photos that tell a story, evoke emotions, and are engaging in a way that involves all the senses. This type of session can document a family's life, a specific event, or even a personal journey.
When choosing images to include in your gallery, I am always thinking about how to tell your story in the most compelling way. When viewing your gallery for the first time, I want my clients to resonate in the most profoundly personal way.
Storytelling photography captures candid and natural moments, rather than staged poses. I will OCCASIONALLY move people around or give you prompts to help illicit moments of genuine interaction, but “posing” is not a part of our session together.
During a storytelling session, I’m constantly paying attention to the environment, your interactions, and details to add depth and meaning to the story. I’m paying more attention to the “in-between” moments of authenticity than anything else.
A storytelling session is visually compelling, emotional, raw, and always a beautiful highlight of the love your family shares.
